La Fabril is an Ecuadorian company founded in 1937 as a textile merchandiser. In 1968, it starts working as a non-processed cotton merchandiser again spreading its scope into the agro-industrial sector in cotton burring and cotton-seed processing activities. In 1978, it takes on the industrial branch as a vegetable oil and fat refiner. In 1981, it aims at the free management of its raw material supply, merging two companies that were dedicated to the extraction and production of palm tree oil. Finally, in 1983, It includes the production of hard soap in its industrial plans.

Through these years, La Fabril has managed to achieve high levels of trust in its production units, searching for mechanization and technology innovations. For instance, it has been the first plant to install high-pressured filters dry-fractioning equipments for palm tree oil, and inter-estherification equipments. Thus, its plant is one of the most modern margarine, oil and fat processing facilities in the country.

La Fabril follows an imaginative and aggressive marketing strategy; being the first ones to launch the following products into the Ecuadorian market:

  • 100% vegetal, tasteless fat, in re-usable packaging
• Cooking oil packaged in bags.
• Triple-refined soybean oil, specially used for canned tunafish.
• Non-hydrogenated margarine.
